Responsibility is the best motivation
Since I started as a Legal Advisor in the International Legal Department several months ago, I’ve only had positive things to say. I was given a high degree of responsibility right from the start. And whenever I need guidance, highly experienced colleagues are always available to help me out straight away – it’s a great learning experience.
What I find most interesting is the overall approach. As a team, we view the project in its entirety, from the beginning to the end, which could be in thirty to forty years, and develop it with this perspective in mind. Additionally, we all have the same goal, for which only the highest quality standards will do. And every situation is different so that routine is very rarely an issue.
When the interdisciplinary team gets together, everyone’s advice and comments are valued as constructive input, as every member is highly qualified and experienced in their field. There’s a great sense of fulfilment in knowing that your contributions have made a tangible difference to the project’s success.
Although I haven’t been with ECE for very long, I have already had the opportunity to hold a presentation on an unusually complicated and sensitive topic in front of the entire Executive Board. The praise and thanks that followed from the Executive Board members gave me a sense of satisfaction and have motivated me to tackle the projects before us.
